“Pedagogical poem” is the most famous work of the Soviet teacher and writer A.S. Makarenko.
It tells about the re-education of minor offenders in the children"s labor colony, the creator and leader of which was the author in the 1920s. Makarenko originated the idea that the labor collective is a nutritious environment for the development of personality and individuality. In relations with pupils, he adhered to the principle: As many requirements for a person and as much respect for him as possible.
The book is addressed to a wide range of readers, as well as teachers, parents and students of pedagogical universities
