The monograph examines the creative path of one of the most popular prose writers of Russian emigration of the first wave - M.A. Aldanova, the unity of his literary, critical, journalistic, romantic heritage is revealed, the principles of philosophical and historical knowledge and author’s narrative strategies are understood. The main attention is paid to the problem of the paradox of Aldanian thinking, which determined the unique intellectual charm and the style of the writer"s prose.
