The book of the famous art critic Ekaterina Andreeva is about the work of St. Petersburg and Moscow artists of several generations: from non-conformists-sixties to millennials. The principle of selection of texts was the study of personal rather than group creativity, since contemporary art, despite the network nature of culture, is by no means monolithic, is the isolated artistic systems - “parallel to modernities”, separated from each other, but not from life. The most noticeable changes in contemporary art are due to the fact that, having become multimedia, it does not depend on material restrictions. The art is happening from everything and about everything, taking any form: these are video art and installations, sculptures and art objects, photography, street art, painting, graphics, cinema, theater, fashion ... And all this is created using new technologies and It affects the most diverse topics of modern life: social justice, environmental ecology, gender roles, history and its interpretation, globalization, etc. The angles of our time without historical divisions and futurological forecasts are the subject of this book.
The publication is addressed to art critics, culturalists, as well as a wide circle of readers interested in the problems of contemporary art
