Origin and evolution of galaxies

The book presents the current state of our knowledge and personal ideas of the author about the formation and evolution of galaxies in the universe. Galaxies - large formations consisting of billions of stars, as well as gas and dust - began to form about 13 billion years ago. Observations of astronomers show that at first the largest galaxies were fully formed, and then the line reached the dwarfs, in which the process of star formation continues in our era. The book tells how and why the structure of galaxies has changed over time, what methods we study the properties of galaxies located in the neighborhood or far from us, and why this area of ​​our ideas about the Universe is now violently developing and every day is full of unexpected discoveries
