TARKHOV Nikolay Aleksandrovich (1871-1930) - one of the masters of the richest galaxy of artistic talents and talents of the beginning of the 20th century, who managed to create his own, bright and dynamic, picturesque style. Having left for Paris back in 1899, he himself, without suspecting it, was among the “strangers of emigrants", whose work was silent for one reason or another in the Soviet era. Despite his active participation in the artistic life of Russia of the 1900-1910s, the name of Tarkhov has been forgotten for many decades. And only a large retrospective exhibition in the State Tretyakov Gallery in 2003 re -opened the audience "his deeply true, sincere, beautiful creativity" (S. Makovsky)
