The book belongs to the series of "University’s works" - the cycle of fundamental works of leading Russian scientists who devoted to the St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions for many years of professional life. Two works of the wonderful St. Petersburg philologist, head of the Department of Literature and the Russian Language of St. Petersburg State University (1992-2009), professor Yuri Vladimirovich Zobnin are published.
The first monograph, Nikolai Gumilyov - the poet of Orthodoxy "talks about the creative and spiritual path of one of the leading poets of the Silver Age. The author studies his poetics, comprehends the essence of acmeism - a literary trend, the leader of which was Gumilyov, his connection with the world of Orthodoxy, with Christian art.
The research of Russian literature of the first decades of the twentieth century continues in the second monograph Poetry of White Emigration: Unnoticed generation "". Her heroes are representatives of the Russian abroad, whose flourishing of the work came for the period between the two world wars. Many of them were obliged to Nikolai Gumilev with their formation, considered him his teacher. This generation put forward a number of brilliant poets, such as V. Khodasevich, V. Nabokov, B. Poplavsky, V. Korvin-Piotrovsky and many others.
The publication is dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the birth of N. S. Gumilyov. Addressed to teachers of schools and universities, humanitarian students and a wide range of lovers of domestic literature
