One of the essential features of the modernist culture was an attempt to push the boundaries of the depicted. This explains her special interest in the painful, going beyond the boundaries of "norms", in particular, for deformations of vision and consciousness. Such interest inevitably provokes the change of familiar optics, causing various kinds of visual experiments to life.
