The book is devoted to the consideration of the myth of Atlanta and the related plots. The parallels were drawn between the messages of ancient authors about the titans and the data of archaeological sources, the book discusses the basic information about dolmens and other megalithic structures of the Neolithic and Bronze Age. A new interpretation of the symbolic meaning of dolmens as a model of the universe is proposed. The idea of megalithic buildings as a global pillar (world axis) connecting the Earth and Heaven finds parallels in the beliefs of various ancient cultures. The author concludes that megalithic buildings can be considered as central, fundamental myths embodied in stone. The book is based on a comprehensive analysis of data from written sources and archeology
