Turgenev’s story "Mumu" is included in the school program in literature in grade 5. You can not impoverish the problems and ideological content of this excellent story, which bears a pronounced anti -consuming orientation. I always tell the fifth graders that the image of the Baryni Turgenev wrote off his own mother - a cruel and fierce serf - Varvara Petrovna Lutovinova. And Gerasim, despite the terrible punishment for unauthorized care of the landowner, went to the village. This is not a story about a poor dog. This is a deeply tragic narrative of awakening in an unfortunate, limp, powerful person of self -esteem.
