Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov (1814-1841) - an outstanding Russian poet and prose writer.
Born in Moscow, but spent all his childhood in the Tarkhana estate (now with. Lermontovo), near Penza, Misha’s parents lived little together, his mother died soon, his father left for the demolition of the boy, leaving the boy in the care of his grandmother, nee Stolypina. Lermontov grew up a painful child, at home school, and to school, a closed boarding house for boys from noble families, entered immediately in the 4th grade. After graduating from it, Misha was in four languages, played the guitar, violin, cello and piano, painted well.
In the same place, at school, the first verses and first suffering arose. Soul dramas, unrequited love and cold contempt for society, which the poet himself experienced, became the leitmotif of his work. Already at this time he conceived a "demon", which is based on the acute consciousness of universal loneliness. Another poem appears - "Mtsyri", hidden in the youthful note by Lermontov: "Write notes of a young monk. 17 years. Since childhood, he in the monastery, except for the sacred books, did not read ... The passionate soul languishes. Ideals". He worked on the "demon" for 10 years, but during his lifetime he did not see the publication due to censorship prohibitions.
Lermontov’s talent has matured quickly, the spiritual world grew, which was also facilitated by studies at the Moscow University at the verbal department, during which Lermontov plunged into urban secular life: salons, balls, masquerades. But having studied for two years, Lermontov suddenly writes a petition for expulsion from among students and enters the school of guards supporters and cavalry junkers, an institution that was distinguished from literature. From there, he came out the root of the Life Guards.
The reading audience first opened it as a poet in a poem for Pushkin"s death
