The fundamental collection of articles" Moscow Kremlin in the XVIII century. Ancient shrines and historical monuments" continues a series of publications dedicated to various eras in the life of the Moscow Kremlin. Like his predecessors. It was prepared as part of the cooperation of the museums of the Moscow Kremlin and the Russian Orthodox Church (section "Church Antiquities" of International Christmas Educational Readings), with the financial support of the Russian Fund for fundamental research. The collection was based on reports read at the XIX International Christmas Educational Readings as part of the Church Antiquities section. They reflect the current stage of studying the history of the Moscow Kremlin and the artistic life of Moscow in the 18th century.
The publication is equipped with a large number of illustrative material, including both images of unique monuments and objects from the collection of museums of the Moscow Kremlin, and graphics from archives and libraries of Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia. A number of works of art and sources published in the collection are first introduced into scientific circulation.
The publication is addressed to historians, art historians, archaeologists, architects, museum workers and a wide circle of readers interested in Russian history and culture.
