Moscow skyscrapers, without which for more than half a century it is impossible to imagine the appearance of the Russian capital, have a dramatic history of occurrence. The very first and most important skyscraper - the Palace of Soviets, designed as a grandiose monument to Lenin - was never built, but the “seven sisters” - the post -war Moscow skyscrapers grew in his invisible shadow. For their construction, Soviet architects and designers turned to the experience and achievements of world architectural and engineering, established communication with colleagues abroad, went abroad and attracted foreigners to work in the USSR. In addition to issues of architecture, aesthetics, constructive solutions for multi -storey buildings, places that have long been lived by people were released, thousands of workers from the hinterland were hired, the labor of prisoners was used.
