Friedrich Wilhelm Bercholts (1699-1765) is a Golstinsky nobleman who has lived in Russia for many years, the author of diaries recognized as one of the most important sources on the history of the court life of Russia Peter"s time. In 1742-1745, he collected a huge collection of architectural drawings and drawings of buildings of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev and some other cities that he visited by travel. known only to specialists. These are over a hundred images, most of which are published for the first time. This includes both the early images of well -known monuments and the drawings of many completely rebuilt or lost objects, the architectural appearance of which was not known to this day.
