Vladimir Yakovlevich PrPP (1895-1970)-a folklorist scientist, professor of the University of Leningrad, the founder of the comparative-typological method in folklorism. V. Ya. Propp became the forerunner of modern structuralism and one of the creators of the modern theory of the text.
"Morphology of a fairy tale" (1928) is the most famous monograph by V. Ya. Proppa, the first part of an unsurpassed classical study dedicated to the structure of the fairy tale. Based on the material of Russian folklore, the scientist identifies the constant and variable elements of the fairy tale. He classifies the actions of the characters that are important for the development of action - the so -called "functions", to alternating - language style, motivation and attributes of heroes. The diversity of the magical world of a fairy tale obeys a strict algorithm of functions, which turned out to be universal for Russian folklore with Ivan Tsarevich and Vasilisa Beautiful, and for European with Rapunzel and Snow White.
The ideas of V. Ya. Propp not only influenced folklore, literary criticism and textology, but also began to be used in political science, advertising, copywriting, the creation of games and scripts
