The purpose of this monograph is to identify the specifics of calligraphy as a phenomenon of modern culture. Comparative analysis made it possible to trace the historical development of the main communicative stereotypes associated with calligraphy, to show its role in various national cultures, and systematize modern interpretations of calligraphy. The specificity of calligraphy in the "High Technology Society" was studied: its significance is shown in professional (including diplomacy) and leisure areas of everyday life. The activities of unique centers for the study and training of calligraphy - interactive museums created in the XXI century. In the East (China) and in the West (Russia).
The author proposed a model of a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to the phenomenon of calligraphy, substantiated the prospects of studying it as a flexible mechanism for the broadcast of cultural heritage, combining innovative methods of creating images with the development of physical and mental activity of the subject (personality)
