The work of the Nobel Prize Laureate Cheslav Milos (1911-2004) is autobiographical, therefore the author considers his poems, novels, letters, interviews and essays not only as literature, but also as evidence. Irena Grudzinskaya-Gross is looking for descriptions of events that formed ideas and feelings related to violence and suffering, as well as the thoughts and conclusions extracted by Milos from this experience.
