The book introduces the 300-year history of the unique collection of Swedish coins and medals belonging to the collector and philanthropist Pavel Grigoryevich Demidov (1738–1821) and stored in the PMM named after A.S. Pushkin. Its compiler and the first owner was the founder of the Swedish numismatics Elias Brenner (1647–1717), the author of the famous work Thus Numorum Sveo-Gothicorum .... After the death of Brenner, the meeting passed from the owner to the owner until his traces were lost. For a long time it was believed that the collection was irrevocably lost, however, as it managed to find out, it was in the hands of Demidov, who not only retained it, but also complemented.
