The book presents a selection of entertaining mathematical surprises, many of which you will not meet in a similar literature. Among the topics under consideration are the mathematical formalization of origami, theorems about six and five colors, the introduction to the theory of Ramsey, the little -known facts proved by induction, etc.
From the most amazing results, we note:
- The Mora-Masqueron theorem- about the possibility of all classical constructions with one circul.
- Steiner theorem- that one line is enough for them, if a circle is drawn somewhere on the plane,
- a detailed description of Gaussian evidence of the possibility of constructing the correct seventeen-angle using a compass and a ruler.
Although all the mathematics used in the book is elementary (Euclidean and analytical geometry, algebra and trigonometry), fans of the queen of sciences of all ages will receive true pleasure from meeting these wonderful tasks!
