The German artist and engraver Martin Schongauer lived in the era of the early Renaissance. People liked his works, for which he was called "Beautiful Martin". In 117 engravings left by the master, his wonderful talent was most revealed. The artist created compositions in which his heroes became participants in the genre scenes. He subtly conveys the originality of space in his engravings, and the chiaroscuro, which he mastered, makes it possible to determine the features of the texture of objects. Some of his compositions of critics call "majestic".
