This publication is dedicated to the story of the life of the artist Maria Vasilievna Yakunchikova-Werber (1870-1902) Being a relative of the mammoth and Tretyakovs, from childhood she was immersed in the world of art. Having matured, Yakunchikova met the members of the Abramtsev art mug. She agreed with the family of the artist Vasily Polenov, who married her sister Natalia. Having received their original art education at the Moscow School, Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, M.V. Yakunchikova continued it in Paris, at the Academy of the Artist Rodolfo Julian. Her works were recognized and exhibited in the best art salon of Paris. The admirer of the talent of M.V. Yakunchikova-Wber was the organizer of art exhibitions in Russia and one of the founders of the magazine "World of Art" Sergey Diaghilev, who represented his art for lovers in Russia.
In the book, based on the correspondence of members of the families of Yakunchikov and Polenov, as well as their acquaintances, the diaries of Maria Vasilievna and the memoirs of her, a detailed chronicle of her life was restored.
