The book of an outstanding philosopher, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences V. A. Lecture is devoted to the philosophical understanding of the dialogue of cultures in the modern world (their interaction and confrontation)
Transformations associated with the emergence of network communities are analyzed, with fundamentally new capabilities and threats created by the latest technologies, transformations that question the traditional cultural values ​​and the future of the person himself. For there are such values ​​as the author notes, without which a person is impossible. It is shown that without philosophy it is inconceivable to answer these challenges to man and culture. But the philosophy itself in connection with unprecedented research in the sciences of a person (human genetics, cognitive research) and the interventions of the brain and psyche based on them should revise a lot in its understanding of knowledge, consciousness, rationality, fundamental values ​​of life and culture.
The book was published in the publishing series of St. Petersburg State University "Classic Humanitarian Thought", which publishes collections of scientific works of our contemporaries - outstanding representatives of domestic humanitarian knowledge.
