The book is devoted to the study of the influence of literature and art on people of power, on the decisions they make. The poison of literature is the truth that can kill and inspire. Such poison is carried by Pushkin’s poems and poems, at one time they were “poisoned” by the Decembrists and Slavophiles. The creations of the great artists Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali and the great writer of America Ernest Hemingway, on whom the FBI started the work of operational development, are saturated with this poison. This is the poison of Solzhenitsyn’s literature, a literary antidote to which the KGB political counterintelligence was looking for. And the poison of the image of a Russian capitalist, ruthlessly represented by Chekhov in his stories and plays, makes him look with other eyes to today"s capitalism.
