This textbook was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Secondary General Education.
In the first part of the textbook, the period of the end of the XIX - early XX centuries is highlighted, which is characterized by a sense of exhaustion, the end of the old life and the onset of the era with the new content and meaning of being. The search for this new content and its forms led to the height of Russian art and literature in realistic and modernist directions, for which this historical period was called the Silver Age. The textbook considers the work of such vivid poets and writers of the time as I. Bunin, L. Andreev, A. Kuprin, M. Gorky, I. Annensky, V. Khodasevich, A. Blok, A. Akhmatova, O. Mandelstam, in . Mayakovsky, M. Tsvetaeva, S. Yesenin.
The main features of the textbook are a format fixed in thematic reversals, laconic structuring of the text, an extensive and diverse illustrative series.
