Semantic reading implies a deep immersion in the content of the read text. The purpose of working with the manual is to form in second -graders the ability to read and understand the texts of different genres, to extract and analyze the necessary information, to predict the content of the text according to available information, to formulate the topic, to answer questions to the text, to express their own opinion about what has been read. The system of tasks proposed in this manual (work with the word, sentence, text) consistently develops these skills, arouses interest in reading, promotes the overall development of the child, his spiritual, moral and aesthetic education. A notebook can be used as an additional manual by teachers working under the L.F. program. Klimanova, M.V.
