The monograph is dedicated to the Italian artist Giuseppe Castillion, who worked at the Manchu court of the Emperors of China in the XVIII century. Under the name Lan Shinin. The author explores the life and work of the painter of the three emperors and the secular brother of the Order of the Jesuits Castillo and his colleagues, who created a unique Sino -European style of painting. The relations of the customer and the contractor, the problems of perception in China direct perspective, the principles of portraiting the emperor and his environment - from wives and concubines to horses and dogs are considered abruptly.
