Benois Mandelbrot opened fractal geometry in the late 1970s. Fractals appeared on the covers of glossy magazines and immediately attracted the attention of not only scientists and engineers, but also designers and fashion designers. The fractals turned out to be useful not only as a mathematical tool for calculating and describing complex, torn, “crumpled” or cut -out forms, but also to illustrate and interpret symbiosis at first glance antagonistic ideas and ideas. The world is not fractiled. But fractal brilliantly illustrates complex network structures that do not have fundamental elements, do not have a "bottom of elementaryness". Fractal illustrates the unity of form, algorithm and mathematical symbol.
This book is designed to popularize the basic provisions of fractal geometry up to the very latest. In the updated and supplemented edition of the book, the material dedicated to the fundamental foundations of fractal geometry has been significantly expanded, many examples of various fractals have been added
