Ivan Zholtovsky was one of the key figures of the history of Soviet architecture. He became world famous as the winner of the competition for the Palace of Councils in 1932. After the defeat of modern architecture in the USSR, it was Zholtovsky who headed the system of training and retraining of Soviet architects in accordance with the new rules of Stalinist architecture. At the same time, his fate and his creative life until today are largely mysterious. For the first time, an attempt is made in the book to consider and explain the most important episodes of the life and work of willow at Zholtovsky in the context of the Stalin era. The book is illustrated by the works of Zholtovsky from the collection of the State Museum of Architecture. Schusev in Moscow, many of which have never been published before.
