I.A. Vsevolozhsky left a significant mark in the history of Russian art as a prominent state official, playwright, screenwriter, artist. Being the director of the imperial theaters (1881-1899), the Imperial Hermitage (1899-1909), Vsevolozhsky had a significant impact on the work of outstanding composers, including P.I. Tchaikovsky, N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, A.K. Glazunov and a lot others. His name is inextricably linked with the ballet theater of St. Petersburg of the second half of the XIX century, for which he initiated a number of productions, wrote scripts and painted sketches of costumes.
