Antonen Arto (1896–1948) - French poet and prose writer, screenwriter and playwright, theater and cinema actor, director and theorist of the theater, philosopher and publicist, artist and scenographer. The early period of his theatrical searches and literary creativity was under the obvious influence of surrealists. The Alfred Jarry Theater created by the Arts lasted from 1927 to 1929 and became the largest phenomenon of surrealism in theatrical art. In the 1930s, Arto nominated the innovative theory of the Cruoological Theater (Theater of Cruelty) and rethought the established concepts of culture. In these years, the main works of Arto “Theater and its double” were written, which contains the philosophical picture of the world and the theater system. The rejection of the realities of reality, the desire to transform the world with the help of art, led to the fact that Arto spent ten years in the hospitals for the mentally ill.
