Choosing the genres of essays, free academic notes and sketches, the author intentionally wanted to go beyond the “traditional” semiotics into the space of semiotic neo -obviousness, where, it would seem, unshakable axioms about the nature of signs and languages are turned into paradoxes and antinomies, losing their uninterrupted authority. The importance of this task is explained by the fact that the starting point of cognition is scientific curiosity, intuition, imagination, not compatible with academic "boredom" - systematizes of known facts and the uncritical reproduction of "obvious".
The book is addressed to a fairly new intellectual space - cognitive semiotics, which is presented as a labyrinth of questions with a series of equivalent answers, questions without answers and not yet asked questions. One of the areas of work is the approaches to solving an exciting problem: the detection of atoms lying at the base of the entire language diversity of culture, not only verbal. It is no accident that the third part of the essays is entirely devoted to the semiotic potential of art languages - painting and music, since these systems, along with science itself, are the most important tool for cognition, adaptation to the world, its creation.
The book was written with the idea of those who are interested in signs, codes, the possibilities of storing and broadcasting information, especially in the field of semiotics of art
