The book is dedicated to the domestic cult, public, residential and palace interiors of the Middle Ages, new and modern times, foreign influences and national traditions in their form formation. The period under consideration in the book begins chronologically with Kievan Rus and ends with the 1920-1930s-the time of the formation of a new, modern stage in the development of world architecture. The basic compositional principles, techniques and means of artistic expressiveness of interiors, their connection with the socio-political and cultural context of the corresponding time are identified.
