History and philosophy of art

The present publication included articles and research by priest Pavel Florensky, which he himself united in the "history and philosophy of art and archeology". For the first time in one volume, such works as the "iconostasis" (1919-1922), "reverse prospect" (1919), "Analysis of spatiality and time in artistic and visual works" (1924), as well as art articles for 1918-1925 GG. Also, for the first time, the applications are published in full preparatory black materials for lectures "Analysis of the perspective" read in VKhUTEMAS in 1921-1924, and their student recording. All this enables the holistic perception of the views of the priest Pavel Florensky on art and allows you to evaluate his innovative contribution to art history. The accompanying article O.I. Genisaret will help the reader enter the problems of art history of the 1920s, not exhausted to this day. The publication is equipped with illustrations of those works that are mentioned in the text.
