The phenomenon of the Moscow metro is in the continuity of its development. Stann in 1935, at the direction of Stalin as a visible embodiment of the advantages of the socialist system (the famous "palaces for the people" were created just then), then it organically incorporated the ideological and stylistic features of each of the eras, becoming the unique encyclopedia of the Soviet, post-Soviet and new Russian architecture.
In the guise of the Moscow subway, the splendor of the Stalin Empire, emasculated by the laconicism of modernism, the permissiveness of post -perestroika eclecticism and the first experiments in the highway, were reflected.
Nowhere in the world, except for Moscow, the network of public transport is not distinguished by such abundant decor. The unprecedented in its architecture and engineering and constructively significantly superior to all other outstanding achievements of socialist construction, this underground system of tunnels was later reproduced in dozens of other cities and to this day is successful.
This book explores the phenomenon of the architecture of the Moscow metro, tracing its development from the very first projects of the 1930s to the latest competitive offers, as well as the history of the formation of corporate identity and corporate design of the subway, from the history of the creation of a logo to the appearance of travel tickets and schemes .
