Hero of our time

Creativity M.Yu. Lermontov is the pinnacle of Russian romanticism, and the novel “Hero of our Time” became a real literary monument of the era, reflecting all the contradictions of the Russian society of the first half of the 19th century. The romantic Lermontov sang a proud, freedom-loving person in him, which does not find application to his abilities. It is not surprising that the novel was perceived by contemporaries as strange. In this publication, Lermontov’s novel is presented in the illustrations of Anatoly Itkin, an honored artist of Russia, a participant in numerous exhibitions not only in our country, but also abroad.
