A real book is a social story of artists of the late XIX - early twentieth centuries. Analyzing domestic art, researchers turn to memoirs and personal documents, as well as self -portraits that allow you to see how the artists themselves perceived themselves and their position in society.
The book describes in detail the context in which the professional formation of a woman in art took place, namely the historical transformations of professional education and the social status of the artist. Researchers analyze such gender aspects as the origin, marriage, the presence of children, life, etc., which directly influenced the career of the artist. The history of domestic art appears before the reader with another - female - side. There are no geniuses, deep emotional torment, great works and achievements, but there is a layer of everyday struggle for the right to be an artist invisible to large narratives.
