Making decisions is a special type of human activity, consisting in the reasonable choice of the best option in the certain sense of the existing capabilities. The book describes the basic methodological approaches that have developed in the theory of choice and decision -making as a scientific discipline. The conceptual apparatus of decision theory is considered. The most famous methods of optimal and rational individual choice, collective decision -making are presented. New modern methods of group verbal analysis of solutions are set forth, focused on the tasks of multicriterial choice, which allow us to take into account judgments, including contradictory, all members of the group making a decision without finding a compromise between the opinions of individual participants. Examples of solving practical problems of multi -criteria choice using new tools are given.
