The study is a continuation of the large -scale project of the French historian Michel Pasturo, dedicated to writing the history of color in Western European societies, from ancient Rome to the 18th century. Starting with a prestigious blue and continuing the contradictory black, the author turned to the decryption of green. Until the 19th century, this color was one of the most difficult in production and consolidation: chemically fragile, for long centuries it was associated with all changeable, short -lived, fleeting: childhood, love, hope, luck, game, case, money. Only the romantics saw his close connection with nature, which remains relevant to the present day, when green, now the color of health, freedom and hope, is entrusted with a high mission to save the planet
