Gorodets. Heritage of the masters. Painting and drawings

The publication is devoted to the largest in volume and rare in nature of the collection of drawings of the Gorodets masters of the Sergiev Posad State Historical and Art Museum-Reserve. The drawings were made in the second half of the 1930s and early 1940s by the famous artists I. A. Mazin, I. K. Lebedev, D. I. Kryukov and A. E. Konovalov in the experimental workshops of the museum of folk art crafts. In these works, different in artistic form and purpose, they are reflected in the search for ways of developing Gorodetsky art in those years.
The book is richly illustrated, most of the works are published for the first time. Of particular interest are the series of works on literary and historical topics, as well as drawings with samples of traditional Gorodets ornament.
