The album introduces the reader to the history and art collection of the Academy Gallery in Venice. In the international museum space, the gallery belongs to the high status of the residence of the Venetian art school. The pearl of its funds is the world"s largest collection of Venetian painting of the XIV -XVIII centuries. Unique in composition and creative achievements, it includes the masterpieces of Jacopo Tintoretto, the Janbattists Pitton, Titian, Antonio Canetto, Giorgone, Giovanni Bellini, Wittore Carpaccio, Paolo Veronese and other brilliant sons of Venice. The vivid identity of the local cultural tradition is shaken by the work of Umbrian Pierrot Della Franc, Ferrarz Kozimo Tour, Paduan Andrea Manteeni and Florentine Leonardo da Vinci, whose drawing vitruvian man belongs to the number of world famous exhibits of the museum. Having originated in 1750 in the bowels of the Venetian Academy of Fine Arts, the gallery intensely sought its own path of development. Having determined at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries the cultural mission of the gallery, curators systematized the rich Venetian artistic heritage in a thematic and chronological order, and the work of the Nevalian schools was placed in separate rooms. The collection exhibited today conveys the festive, solemn and radiant sound of Venetian art, which has preserved a special sense of color and extraordinary decorative charm and subtlety for centuries
