A set of phenomena in which the wave nature of light is manifested. The main attention is paid to interference, diffraction and polarization phenomena: mathematical representations of the light wave, methods of observing interference, describing interferometers, diffraction of Frele and fraunhofer, diffraction lattices, types of polarization and methods of observing them. The physical foundations of holography, methods of obtaining holograms and their application, various light sources, including the physical foundations of the laser and its constructive device (anatomy) are described. The main issues of photometry are set out.
