The book of the largest domestic folklorist Eleazar Moiseevich Meletinsky (1918-2005) is a concise presentation of his concept of historical poetics, the origins of which are rooted in the myth, and the subsequent phases of development were reflected in folklore genres (fairy tale, epos) and literary traditions (novel, novel) The book opens with theoretical introduction, and then these narrative forms are sequentially considered.
