The monograph discusses the history of the creation of the first textbooks on literature, complementing the main training book (textbook), determines their role, functions, significance in the educational process. The first experiments of literature in literature in the Russian school of the XIX - early XX centuries are characterized. Social and pedagogical incentives for the development of additional textbooks on literature are investigated, expanding the subject educational environment that enriched the types of educational activities in the Soviet school of the 70-80s. XX century and preparing the creation of lines of educational and methodological sets in literature in the domestic school of the early XXI century.
