The great Spanish artist Francisco Goya created a unique series of etchos “Caprichos”, in which he told about the realities of modern Spain. The acute, even grotesque shape of his etchings ridiculed the vices of society. The artist did not stand on ceremony, showing the hypocrisy of the nobility, the church with its terrible Inquisition. In a metaphorical form, he ridiculed human vices, rising to high generalizations. The work, which demanded incredible efforts from the artist, acquired the character of acute social satire. According to the king’s decision and the requirement of the Church, brilliant work at the time when the great master lived, she did not completely see the light.
