The work is based on previously unpublished archival materials. The monographs can see the formation of a system of spiritual education in Russia, its goals and objectives, as well as the specifics of spiritual educational institutions in the educational space of Russia. The Kazan Theological Academy, the Kazan Theological Seminary are considered as centers for the training of pedagogical personnel, whose graduates applied their knowledge no longer only in the system of spiritual education, but also secular. Due to the lack of secular teachers and pedagogical education, spiritual figures partially replenished the existing vacuum and proposed their approaches and methods not only of spiritual education, but also secular. The author returns from oblivion a number of significant figures standing at the origins of Russian pedagogical education in theological academies, seminaries and schools.
