Mikhail Osipovich Gershenzon (1869–1925) - historian of Russian literature and social thought of the 19th century, writer, philosopher, publicist, translator, tireless collector of the epistolary heritage of many figures of Russian culture, editor and publisher.
This Tom included the books “Historical Notes” and “The Dream and Thought of I.S. Turgenev” and the article “Slavophilism” already published in Russia. The collection “Palmyra” - the last book of Gershenzon, published in the United States in 1997, is published in Russia for the first time.
The publication is supplemented by articles about Gershenzon V.V. Rozanova, G.V. Florovsky, L.I. Shestova and V.Yu. Proskurina, comments and names indicator. The book is addressed to researchers, teachers and students, as well as a wide circle of readers interested in the history of culture
