The monograph is devoted to a genre study of a fantastic adventurous-historical novel. The analysis of the four most representative novels is presented here: “Between two times” by J. Finney, “Time for the rebel” G. Harrison, “It is difficult to be a god” A. and B. Strugatsky, “somewhere in time” by R. Mateson. On the basis of these, as well as many other works, a theoretical model of the genre is built
