The publication was carried out as part of the joint publishing program of the Museum of Modern Art Garage and Artguide Editions. Nicholas Serot for 28 years headed the Tate Gallery, turning it into one of the most influential art institutions in the world. The Gallery branch - Tate Modern - acquired a reputation as a museum of the 21st century: it was here that the curators for the first time abandoned the idea of grouping work and artistic movements and began to exhibit works on topics, building a dialogue between them and creating a curatorial narrative in the exposition. This edition publishes a lecture by Nicholas Serota, dedicated to various approaches to the exhibiting of the works, read by him in 1996 at the National Gallery in London
