This book united under one cover the results of an interdisciplinary scientific research conducted by the Laboratory of Media Research of the Central Executive Committee of the Higher School of Economics in 2012-2014, journalistic observations and essays of expedition participants, as well as large fragments of interviews with rural residents. The field part of the study took place during the period of significant strengthening of the involvement of technologies in people"s lives in rural areas. We recorded an important stage in the transformation of the media sphere - the situation of the transition to digital multi -channel television in various regions and the beginning of the formation of new (digital) practices of media consumption.
