The book is dedicated to the artistic culture of the XVIII century in the context of the ideological processes and strategies of the power of this turning point in the historical period.
On the one hand, there is a stagnant -archaic conservative power, fought with certain religious institutions. One way or another interacts with the new ideas of enlighteners.
On the other, the virtual, but extremely influential power of new liberal ideologists. The artist falls into these cunningly acting millstones, rotating in different planes. Active searches, historical dynamics give painting and architecture, music and literature of this fruitful era an irresistibly lively and attractive appearance. Putting nearby and trying to comprehend as a whole of masters of different arts is a difficult and grateful task.
Before us are the final arts of great artistic traditions and innovers of different arts, from Antoine Watto to Jacques -Louis David, from Sharden to Goya, from Daniel Defoe to Goethe, from Bach to Mozart.
Yakimovich Alexander Klavdianovich - Russian art critic, critic, art historian. Doctor of Art History, a full member of the Russian Academy of Arts. He worked at the Research Institute of History and Theory of Art of the USSR, at the Institute of Art of Art, at the State Museum of Fine Arts. A. S. Pushkin, in the museum "Tsaritsyno". Member of the International Association of Artistic Critics (AICA) since 1986, Aica Vice President from 1992 to 1994. Since 1998 - leading researcher at the Institute of Cultural Studies.
