The author of this book, Academician N.N. Myseev, talks about the problems and difficulties rising today to humanity, and about the ways of their solutions, the search for which people will have to devote all their intellectual and spiritual forces. The main emphasis is on global human ecology. The book tells about the coevolution (coexistence) of nature and humanity - a new direction in science, which deals with comprehensive issues of preserving the environment necessary for people"s life.
The book consists of four chapters. The first of them discuss the issues of the “maximum line” - the existence of some limiting states of the biosphere, which mankind should not be crossed under any conditions. The second chapter considers the study of the biosphere using large -scale machine experiments, including an assessment of the consequences of the nuclear war. The third chapter discusses possible types of cooperative mechanisms with which compromises can be found in complex environmental situations. The last chapter is devoted to methodological problems, including the problem of the general picture of the world.
